Coach's Message

Eric Chamberland

Head Coach

"We've got a lot of new faces in navy and orange this year, and openers are where you find out what you actually have. Our Grade 12s have set the tone all camp, and the young guys have pushed them every day. Cochrane's a good football team and they'll test us early — that's exactly what we want. Thanks to our parents and our community for coming out on the road with us. Let's get to work."

Game Preview

Season openers rarely tell you the whole story, but they tell you something. The Cavaliers travel to Cochrane on Saturday, August 29 for a 1:00 PM kickoff against the Cobras, and they arrive with a roster that looks meaningfully different than the one that closed out last year. Grade 12 captain and quarterback Marshall Diggins returns to lead a senior core that includes Cameron Sylvinski, Ryder Colby, Carter Cummings, Carson Mitchell, Mason Kinsella, and standout receiver Levi Jones. Behind them is the wave everyone in Airdrie has been waiting on — a Grade 10 class fresh off a Tier 1 provincial championship with the Airdrie Raiders, headlined by quarterback prospect Davin Bankebabone. Add a backfield of Corbin Rohl and Christian McElligott and transfer receiver Makao McFarlane, and there's more raw talent on this sideline than the program has carried in some time. Cochrane will be a real test of how quickly it all comes together.
