To our players, families, and Cavalier community, Tonight, we do something that not every team is willing to do — we go on the road and test ourselves against the best. Notre Dame has built one of the most respected programs in this province, and stepping onto their field as a 4A school taking on 5A competition is exactly the kind of challenge that builds champions. This is a young football team. Most of our roster is just beginning their high school football journey, but I've never been more excited about a group's potential. Every rep, every setback, every hard-fought battle this season is building something — a foundation for a program that's going to be talked about for years to come in this province. Football doesn't measure you by the score of one game. It measures you by who you become through the process. Tonight, our players get to find out what they're made of against one of the best. Win or lose, I know this group will compete with everything they have, and they'll walk off that field better than when they stepped on it. To our seniors — thank you for leading this group with pride and setting the standard for what it means to wear the Cavalier logo. To our underclassmen — soak in every moment. The Croxford Cavaliers hit the road this week for one of the toughest challenges on the 2026 schedule, traveling to Red Deer to face the Notre Dame Cougars — a perennial 5A powerhouse and consistent top-10 provincial contender. This is exactly the kind of matchup that builds a program. Croxford, a proud 4A school, is stepping up in classification to test itself against one of the top 5A programs in the province. Notre Dame's size and depth are the standard in Alberta high school football, and games like this are where young teams find out who they really are. Fresh off a hard-fought win against George Mac, the Cavaliers bring a roster built heavily around Grade 10 and 11 talent — but one that already showed it can move the ball and compete with anyone. Facing a 5A program on the road is the ultimate measuring stick, and there's no better way to accelerate the growth of this young group than under the Friday Night Lights against elite competition.
